Christina is one half of Depoy Studios- a local wedding photography company in which we have worked with on few weddings. Depoy Studios have done wedding in Phoenix, Chandler, as well as Flagstaff. Here are some interesting facts she shared in a recent chat we had. Read the interview below.
What inspired you to get into the wedding industry?
-My crazy, insane love for love! I started photography in school and a wedding photographer came into the class to chat about wedding photography, and I was HOOKED!!
Is photography your only occupation?
-Yes, photography is my full~time occupation.
What makes your service unique?
-Our service is unique because of us, Deloris and myself. We are both owners and photographers. Customer service is at the top of our list and we are looking to build longterm relationships with our crazy cool couples! We have a studio so we photograph more than just weddings, but wedding is what we specialize in. We have a yearly party for our couples to stay in touch and looking into doing some other fun stuff with our couples; they are the best!!
What other events do you photograph for?
-All kinds of events and charity work as well. Giving back is huge for us and we shoot a few charity events each year.
Tell us about your team?
-It is myself and Deloris, for now. We work teamed up for weddings. We are often thought to be family but our not. We are both fun loving, easy going, and LoVe our jobs... as well as being MaDly in LoVe with LoVe!!!
What do you love about arizona weddings?
-The heat, not!!! We love that we travel all around Arizona with no extra travel fee and are able to shoot in the beautiful desert of AZ to the stunning woods of Flagstaff, or Red Rocks of Sedona. But we do travel all over to photograph weddings, and we love doing that too!!
What are some upcoming bridal/wedding trends for fall/winter?
-I have been in the industry for a little over 5 years. I am starting to see more couples wanting to spend time at their cocktail hours; enjoying the food and drinks they paid for!! I would. So this means couples are doing more and more first looks (seeing each other before the wedding) I HIGHLY recommend it. It allows to enjoy some of their time with their loved ones and ease up their wedding day time~line by having some of the bridal or family photos done before the wedding. As well as giving the photographer more time for creative photos and not having guest standing around waiting for an 1 1/2-2 hours for the cocktail hour. We love this trend. We are also seeing a lot more Unplugged Weddings. Weddings that people put their phone/iPads away and enjoy the wedding and allowing the pros to capture those moments.
How long have you been in the industry and how has it changed since you started?
I have been in the industry for a little over 5 years. I think of myself as being new still and am noticing more and more networking that helps other entrepreneur build their business.
